"And I was just feeling so guilty because you had been holding out so long", she said.
"It's Day 60."
"Really, yeah, well it was one of the major reasons I was feeling so badly about having to not see you," she gushed.
"Well, it was your idea", I said matter of factly.
"I know."
Silence.
"What if I flew up for the day, early in the morning; let you get off in my presence, and then took a night flight back?"
"Awww, you are sooo sweet. But wouldn't you want to stay the night?", I greedily grubbed.
"We'll see," she teased, "We'll see."

That seems very cruel. I almost dread reading the next post.
It's the wonderful dread/anticipatory hope conundrum.
Actually, I thought it was totally sweet of her. Here she is working her fingers to the bone at her NYC style job on her island paradise; husband is feeling neglected so she's struggling to look after him, she's battling some weird, energy sapping condition; and she's still thinking about coming to see me.
I was really glad I just vented here in my virtual living room rather than be a jerk and add to her burdens. I really honestly told her that whatever she needs from me, she's got.
The high road ... I'll be a whiney kvetch here with my cronies.

Tryin' to hold back this feelin' for so long"

Progress. That's good news.
Process...I think it's process. I had no doubt she was feeling guilty and torn. I didn't want to add to where she'd go of her own accord.
Progress?
That's a plane ticket!
You're on her mind, i count that as progress. Gosh, when did i become an optimist. :-)
I like your point of view. It's good to be an optimist.
Best practice? A realistic optimist.
I'm looking forward to the happy ending (no pun intended, just worked out that way).
and now i can't stop laughing at myself. that was pretty funny.
Ha!
Happy endings are for optimists! :-P
after 60+ days without one i'd feel the same way. :-)
Interesting entry, and it sounds a bit like you want to keep pushing onward.
I have read many reports of guys who after the first or second month actually start to get a bit proud of their chaste state - and even a little rebellious at the idea of ending it.
Maybe...
Hompsin?
Green... Frog?
It is an interesting idea, and I definitely get "possessive" of "my" chastity.
However, I'm ready to let it go...
And She has tickets!!!
Totally love the frog note. Very cool.
That frog note is real old school interweb memes.
But the word verification was just too close not to share it ;)
And I guess she's got the ticket to ride, eh?
